Spring Agro Industries Ltd. was honored to participate in the prestigious West Africa Rice Investment Roundtable 2026, held from 2nd to 3rd June 2026 at the Kempinski Hotel, Accra, Ghana. The company was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Siddharth Mohindroo, and Operations Manager, Mr. Harry Asmah.
The Roundtable brought together Heads of State, Ministers, development partners, financial institutions, private investors, agribusiness leaders, and other key stakeholders from across West Africa to discuss strategies to strengthen the region’s rice value chain and accelerate progress toward rice self-sufficiency.
Organized jointly by the ECOWAS Commission, the Government of Ghana, and the World Bank, the event served as a platform for dialogue on the investments, innovations, and partnerships needed to transform rice production and processing across the region. Discussions focused on critical areas including mechanization, irrigation, storage infrastructure, market access, value addition, and sustainable agricultural development.
A significant highlight of the Roundtable was the announcement of approximately US$1.54 billion in investment commitments toward the development of West Africa’s rice sector, as well as the adoption of the Accra Declaration, which reinforces the region’s commitment to enhancing food security, increasing productivity, and reducing dependence on imported rice.
For Spring Agro Industries, participation in this landmark event provided an important opportunity to engage with policymakers, investors, development institutions, and industry leaders while exploring emerging opportunities that will shape the future of rice production in Ghana and across West Africa. The discussions offered valuable insights into investment trends, policy reforms, financing mechanisms, and innovative approaches that can support sustainable growth within the agricultural sector.
Commenting on the company’s participation, CEO Mr. Siddharth Mohindroo stated:
“Spring Agro remains committed to supporting Ghana’s agricultural transformation through sustainable production, value addition, and strategic partnerships. Participation in the West Africa Rice Investment Roundtable reinforces our dedication to contributing to food security and the long-term development of the rice industry across the region.”
As a company focused on advancing agriculture and strengthening food systems, Spring Agro Industries continues to pursue initiatives that promote productivity, sustainability, and economic growth within Ghana’s agricultural sector. The company is proud to be part of the collective effort driving the future of rice production and food security in West Africa.
